Keeping in mind this administrator was very "optimistic" and a "team player" at the IEP meeting. Having suspected the administrator's insincerity, it was confirmed after these comments made to us two days later. Keep in mind this was Kindergarten...

"If you would let us do what WE thinks needs to be done, things would be better".
(We shudder to think what THEY think needs to be done)

He's not like other Asperger's kids. He really not very "aspergerish". He's too social and intelligent"
(And you have JUST confirmed that you know NOTHING about Asperger Syndrome)

"The whole school is walking on eggshells because they are afraid of what they are allowed and not allowed to do"
(We WERE thinking that's why it's written in the IEP? So they can READ IT?)

"We are not going to change his seating arrangement because this child is the only one who stands up to him and we are not aware of her having any discipline problems"
(comment based on a written request from us- the day after his IEP meeting the PRINCIPAL changed his seat in the classroom to be next to a peer with more severe behavioral issues. As per our private aide, she made frequent visits to the principals office - probably yet another child that needed intervention but received discipline instead).

"You haven't been honest with us"
(We're not quite sure what this was even about)

"You need to put the mistakes we made behind you and trust that we know what's best for your child"
(Um, yeah...should we also put all these comments behind us too?)

"You should not be calling the the special education teacher with concerns. They should go through me."
(Oh, OK...now we get it. Here we thought that's WHY he had a Special Education Teacher. But apparently, its up to the Administration to implement his IEP)

"You do not show enough remorse or emotion about the fact that your (5 year old) child has hit others"
(Gosh, Maybe I need to start crying and screaming at our IEPs from now on. Here I thought I was being professional...)

Post Your Quotes Here!!

Welcome to edu-crat-speak.
